The Internal Revenue Service announced Thursday that the maximum contribution that can be made next year (2017) to an HSA linked to a high-deductible plan will be $3,400, up from $3,350, while the maximum contribution for those with family coverage will remain at $6,750.

Interesting Court Opinion Called to Our Attention by ECFC Member Regarding HRA Reimbursements and Overtime Pay
One of our members alerted us to a recent U.S. district court decision in a class action law suit against the City of Sheboygan in Wisconsin (Gilbertson v. City of Sheboygan) concerning overtime pay and HRA reimbursements. The decision was the focus of an update circulated by a Wisconsin law firm and the member was getting calls from clients about the decision. The purpose of this e-mail is to alert you to the court case and provide background information in case you are asked to comment on the case and its impact on employers that sponsor an HRA.
