William Sweetnam Spearheads Efforts on Cadillac Tax as First Priority

WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 1, 2015) – Beginning June 1st, Bill Sweetnam will join the Employers Council on Flexible Compensation (ECFC) as its Legislative and Technical Director. His first order of business will be spearheading ECFC’s efforts on the Cadillac Tax and the important role of consumer directed arrangements (FSAs, HRAs, and HSAs) in assisting employers and employees make effective health coverage decisions.  Bill brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that adds significant value to the ECFC and each of its members.  As a well-known and well-respected tax attorney, Mr. Sweetnam has more than 30 years of experience specializing in employee benefits and executive compensation.  His tenure as the Benefits Tax Counsel for the U.S. Department of the Treasury and as Tax Counsel on the staff of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee provides him with a unique perspective on legislative and regulatory affairs. 

Mr. Sweetnam will coordinate ECFC’s advocacy efforts and help respond to technical and regulatory inquiries.
