ECFC to Further Mission with New Communications Agency
Mercury Labs to advance discussion of tax-advantaged benefit programs

Washington, D.C. – August 12, 2015 – Employers Council on Flexible Compensation (ECFC), the leading non-profit organization promoting and preserving employer-sponsored benefit choices for working Americans, hired Mercury Labs to advance the organization’s marketing communications efforts.

ECFC is an organization of industry professionals dedicated to the advocacy, education, advancement and innovation of tax-advantaged benefit programs that facilitate choice for employers and their employees, including flexible spending arrangements, health savings accounts, health reimbursement arrangements, transit and dependent care benefits.
“Mercury Labs has a deep knowledge and vast experience in our industry, and their expertise is significant to ensuring ECFC is a vital force and essential voice as it continues to demonstrate leadership and value to its members and the industry as a whole,” said Renee Lutzen, member of ECFC’s Board of Directors who also serves as Chair of the Communications and Public Relations Committee.

Central to ECFC’s activities is engaging with key Congressional leaders on the important role of consumer-directed health plans (FSAs, HRAs and HSAs) in assisting employers and employees in making effective health coverage decisions. This includes exposure and awareness on matters to work to eliminate the Affordable Care Act’s 40 percent non-deductible excise tax, more commonly referred to as the Cadillac Tax, on employer-sponsored health coverage.

“ECFC knows the benefits space from the inside. Member organizations include third-party administrators, health plans, payment networks, transaction processors and financial institutions. Matching this thought leadership with our expertise in marketing communications, public relations and video production makes this partnership primed for moving ECFC’s mission forward,” said Carrie Trent, of Mercury Labs.
