ECFC To Host 35th Annual Conference March 16-18

Nation’s Leading Experts Meet to Advance Health Care Consumerism

Washington, D.C. – March 1, 2016ECFC, the leading nonprofit organization promoting choice in benefit solutions, will host its 35th Annual Conference March 16-18 in Washington, D.C. ECFC and its more than 100 member organizations are champions of tax-advantaged benefits programs, and this annual event works to ensure voices are heard in the ongoing debate on employer-provided benefit plans, tax reform and the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

“We are building on our successes made over the past 35 years to advance healthcare consumerism, including last year with the two-year delay in the Cadillac Tax, and will continue to position ourselves as the thought leaders on these issues,” said Martin Trussell, executive director of ECFC. “Strengthened by member support, we are poised to make significant strides in promoting choice in benefit solutions this year – our 35th anniversary.”

With Cadillac Tax advocacy efforts still a high priority, ECFC members will be voicing concerns and sharing insights during face-to-face meetings with members of the Senate and the House of Representatives. It is ECFC’s responsibility to be the key representative for tax-advantaged, employer benefit plans, and this conference is designed to initiate and promote an exchange of ideas between conference attendees, speakers, legislators and their staffs.

“This is a hands-on experience where we will be able to help formulate the future of the ACA, tax reform and related priority topics in the tax-advantaged benefit arena,” Trussell said. “Attendees will come from every member stakeholder group, including employers, third-party administrators, health plans, payers, providers, payment networks, processors and financial institutions that have a committed, vested interest in consumer-driven employee benefit plans.”

The Annual Meeting is one of several networking, advocacy and educational events ECFC is sponsoring throughout the year to provide the consumer-directed benefits industry with practical advice, technical education and updates on lobbying efforts with Congress and on the regulatory front.
